About The Position

At Ethos, Art Directors do more than make things look good. They play a central role in shaping how our clients show up in the world, translating strategy into thoughtful, compelling visual expression. This role blends concept and craft, working across disciplines to bring ideas to life in ways that feel intentional and true to the brief and our Human Kind Brands™ framework. You’ll partner closely with writers, designers, strategists, and account leads to guide projects from early thinking through final execution, with a focus on elevating the work and how it’s experienced.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or related field; portfolio‑based equivalency considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in an agency or comparable creative environment.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and refined execution across channels.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint; familiarity with Figma or collaborative platforms preferred.
  • Experience working with photographers, illustrators, motion designers, and other creative partners.
  • Solid understanding of branding, typography, layout, color theory, and visual systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead visual development for integrated campaigns across digital, print, social, experiential, and video channels.
  • Translate brand strategy and creative briefs into cohesive, concept-driven visual solutions.
  • Collaborate with creative partners to develop ideas rooted in insight and storytelling.
  • Guide, mentor, and provide constructive critique to designers and junior creatives.
  • Ensure visual consistency, craft quality, and brand standards across all outputs.
  • Present creative concepts and rationale to internal teams and clients.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects within scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, and cultural insights to inform creative work.
