About The Position

This is an 8.5-week paid internship opportunity for an Art Director Intern at Tombras in Knoxville, TN. The internship runs from 9/23/26 to 11/20/26, with a maximum of 25 hours per week, and pays $18 per hour. Interns will work with the Creative team to contribute to the conceptual and visual development of various projects, collaborate with the Creative Director, Art Directors, Copywriters, and Designers, and create and edit digital assets. Responsibilities also include researching trends, assisting in creating moodboards, sketches, and presentation decks, and other assigned tasks.

Requirements

Candidates should have prior work or life experience in a relevant field
Currently enrolled as a Senior in a Bachelor’s program, or a recent graduate with a major in Media, Marketing, Advertising, Portfolio School, or similar field (a degree is not required)
Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
An engaging portfolio that showcases strong design skills
Proficiency in Mac OSX, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
You work well as a team player in a flexible, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
You possess excellent visual and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

Illustration experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Work with the Creative team to contribute to the conceptual and visual development of various projects
Collaborate with the Creative Director, Art Directors, Copywriters, and Designers to execute design direction
Create and edit digital assets for both internal presentations and client deliverables
Research trends and assist in creating moodboards, sketches, and presentation decks
