About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Art Department Supervisor oversees and improves upon the day-to-day operations of the Stewart Signs Art Department. This includes the continuing development of the individual Artists in their job functions, as well as communicating with sales representatives, product engineers and other departments within the company. The Art Department Supervisor is responsible for the department’s overall work output while also contributing through artwork creation. This role reports on department productivity at weekly Marketing Department meetings and provides guidance to maintain and improve efficiency. In partnership with the Director of Marketing, the supervisor also assists with hiring and disciplinary actions within the department as needed. This role is a full-time on-site position Monday – Friday.

Requirements

  • Team leading skills.
  • Building a strong knowledge of company products and options.
  • Skilled in using graphic design software such as the Adobe and Corel suites.
  • High School diploma required
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as an Artist
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated high level data entry and customer service experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to completion.
  • Goal-oriented, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn technical products quickly or technical aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written skillsets and ability to communicate with multiple departments.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with a Customer Relationship Management Database (CRM).

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and eliminates obstacles to productivity for individual Artists, including technical, workflow or interpersonal issues.
  • Contributes to productivity through artwork creation and assisting the Artists in their job functions.
  • Creates and maintains the tools, templates and procedures used by the Artists.
  • Maintains a library of sketch creation assets, including templates, purchased stock assets and fonts.
  • Acts as the point-of-contact for questions or issues from Sales.
  • Research new technologies, software or design concepts and present to Marketing Director for review.
  • Special projects as directed by the Director of Marketing.
