About The Position

SOUND Behavioral Health is hiring an ARNP or Physician Assistant to provide psychiatric services at its Auburn and Bellevue clinics in King County, Washington. The role focuses on prescribing and monitoring medications, evaluating psychiatric status, and consulting with non-medical team members. It is primarily clinical, with most work time spent seeing patients and productivity and scheduling standards comparable to those for physicians. The position is part-time, benefits-eligible, and scheduled for 32 hours per week across four 8-hour weekday shifts, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The ARNP independently evaluates patients to determine psychiatric diagnoses and biopsychosocial case formulations, assesses the need for psychotropic medication, prescribes within the scope of licensure, and monitors medication effects. The role coordinates medical issues with treatment planning, screens for other medical conditions, orders appropriate laboratory tests, and collaborates with clinical teams, outside providers, and primary care physicians. The ARNP maintains clinical records, participates in medical staff meetings, obtains consultation or supervision when needed, and may perform teaching, supervision, and committee duties. The position requires respectful, ethical, and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and outside organizations, including people from diverse backgrounds. The clinician is expected to understand, apply, and demonstrate recovery concepts in clinical work at SOUND.
