About The Position

MultiCare Cancer Institute is seeking a Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Tacoma oncology team — a role built for those who value collaboration, stability, and purpose-driven work. In this full-time, weekday schedule, you will play a key role supporting cancer patients through treatment, symptom management, triage, coordination and ongoing continuity of care. You’ll work alongside dedicated oncologists, infusion nurses, and supportive care partners — with access to >20 Hem/Onc providers across the MultiCare Cancer Institute network. Practicing within a Commission on Cancer (CoC)-accredited comprehensive cancer program, you’ll play a vital role in delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care as part of a multidisciplinary oncology team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current ARNP certification and licensure in Washington State
  • DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Provides specialized care for patients undergoing cancer treatment, including administering systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted agents.
  • Assess and manage treatment-related symptoms.
  • Coordinate care across disciplines, and support patients through education, counseling, and survivorship planning.
  • Work alongside oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate holistic patient care.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
  • Offer clear guidance on follow up care, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications to support informed decision-making.
  • Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Document all patient interactions and clinical decisions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Stay current with oncology best practices, emerging therapies, and clinical guidelines through continuing education and training.
