About The Position

G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc., an Allied Universal company, is hiring an Armed Transportation Officer to securely and safely transport, guard, and escort individuals from specified sites to designated destinations. The role includes armed transportation, escorting individuals to and from transport vehicles, monitoring individuals in accordance with customer standards, courtroom guarding, security services, and related transportation and guard duties. The officer is responsible for keeping transportation vehicles in safe and correct working order and maintaining control of the vehicles while operating them safely and legally. The position pays $63.79 per hour and requires availability for evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays to support client needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to meet and maintain applicable licensing requirements, including driver’s license or certification requirements.
• California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Armed Security Guard License with a .40-caliber or 9mm endorsement.
• Must be a United States citizen.
• At least two years of driving experience and at least 21 years of age, as required by the Department of Transportation.
• At least three years of experience in any combination of law enforcement, military police, or security officer functions related to correctional operations.
• At least one year of general experience demonstrating tactful interaction with the public; ability to understand and apply written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations; interpret printed rules, detailed written orders, and training materials; compose reports; exercise good judgment and alertness; and perform satisfactorily through knowledge of position responsibilities.
• Effective oral and written communication, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening skills.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately.

Nice To Haves

• Current and valid Commercial Driver’s License with a Passenger endorsement.
• Fluency in multiple languages, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Active federal clearance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and prepare transportation vehicles for daily operation; conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and complete paperwork documenting damage or defects.
• Conduct pat-down searches and ensure individuals are properly secured before departure and during transport.
• Obtain and accurately complete all paperwork when collecting individuals at facilities and delivering them to designated destinations.
• Operate vehicles safely and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, municipal, and organizational laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Provide armed transportation, escort, courtroom guarding, security, and related transportation and guard services.
