About The Position

Armorous is hiring an Armed Security Officer for a recycling yard. The officer will safeguard properties, deter criminal activity, and help ensure safety. The role requires vigilance, sound decision-making, and effective communication. Duties include access control, theft deterrence, and hourly patrols.

The scheduled shifts are Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, and Monday and Tuesday, 2:30 PM–10:30 PM. Additional shifts may be available. The pay rate is $27 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid BSIS Guard Card and BSIS Firearm Permit.
• Current BSIS compliance, including an 8-hour initial training certificate and 32-hour continuing education certificates.
• Experience working graveyard shifts.
• Tactical vest, handcuffs, and a less-than-lethal device such as a baton or OC spray.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to remain alert, responsive, and proactive in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols to monitor and secure designated locations.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety.
• Respond promptly to incidents and provide support in emergencies.
• Document daily activity, incidents, and observations accurately in reports.
• Communicate security updates and concerns to supervisors and team members.
• Perform access control and deter theft.
