About The Position

International Protective Service, Inc., an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring an Armed Security Officer. This role is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Armed Security Officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site. Military and Veterans are Strongly Encouraged to Apply. This position pays $24.00 per hour. No Guard Card? No Problem! We can assist with obtaining a Guard Card!

Requirements

• Active State Armed Security Guard License
• Minimum One (1) year Law Enforcement or Military Experience or six (6) months of security experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving history
• Minimum of 21 years of age (or higher if required by the state)
• Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports; able to effectively convey information to the public, client representatives, and fellow employees
• Able to complete all range qualifications and functions

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice or protective service related field
• Prior Armed Experience
• Three (3) or more years of law enforcement experience
• Three (3) or more years of military experience
• Three (3) or more years of experience as an armed security professional

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information
• Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified information
• Preserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site
• Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.
• Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information
• Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate
• Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary
