About The Position

Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking an experienced Armed Security Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our employees, visitors, facilities, and organizational assets. This role combines traditional corporate security responsibilities with executive protection support, requiring a high level of professionalism, judgment, discretion, confidentiality and situational awareness. As an Armed Security Officer, you will serve as a visible security presence, respond to incidents and emergencies, conduct investigations, perform threat assessments, and support executive protection activities. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with backgrounds in law enforcement, military security, executive protection, or other public safety professions who are looking to apply their expertise in a corporate environment focused on protecting people and reducing organizational risk.

Requirements

  • 5 years of executive protection, law enforcement or military security enforcement.
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Valid Idaho Concealed Weapons Permit (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Valid Idaho Driver's License (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to successfully meet firearm qualification requirements.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including no felony or violent crime convictions.
  • May require automobile liability insurance if driving a personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel and support off-site events, including occasional evening or weekend assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and safeguard employees, visitors, facilities, and company assets.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment through proactive security measures and visible patrols.
  • Control and evaluate access to company facilities and property.
  • Respond to alarms, security incidents, emergencies, disturbances, suspicious activity, and potential threats.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare accurate, timely reports and documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison with law enforcement, fire departments, and other public safety agencies.
  • Complete threat assessments involving facilities, venues, individuals, and organizational assets.
  • Support emergency response efforts and critical incident management.
  • Provide armed security coverage and response capability in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Provide armed escort services for executives and designated individuals as needed.
  • Assist with executive travel planning and coordination.
  • Conduct travel risk assessments and prepare security briefings.
  • Support off-site meetings, special events, and executive travel assignments.
  • Coordinate with hotels, venues, transportation providers, and local public safety agencies to support executive security requirements.
