About The Position

Citadel Security USA is hiring a Part-Time Armed Security Officer to provide security services at a premier luxury retail location in Kansas City, Missouri. This position is ideal for experienced security professionals who are comfortable working in a customer-focused environment while helping safeguard valuable merchandise, employees, and visitors. The successful candidate will combine professionalism, vigilance, and exceptional customer service to support a safe shopping experience. Officers must be capable of making sound decisions, maintaining a visible security presence, and responding appropriately to security concerns while representing Citadel Security USA with integrity.

Requirements

  • Active Missouri Armed Security License (Guard Card) required.
  • Personal firearm that complies with all applicable state laws and Citadel Security USA policies.
  • Legal authorization to carry a firearm while performing assigned duties.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and outstanding customer service abilities.
  • Ability to remain alert, exercise sound judgment, and make timely decisions.
  • Ability to satisfy all applicable state and local armed security licensing requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous armed security experience in retail, luxury retail, or other high-value commercial environments.
  • Background in loss prevention, asset protection, or organized retail crime prevention.
  • Military, law enforcement, or executive protection experience.
  • Experience interacting with customers while maintaining a professional security presence.
  • Strong observation, de-escalation, and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional and highly visible armed security presence throughout the retail location.
  • Conduct continuous observation of sales floors, entrances, exits, and surrounding areas.
  • Help protect merchandise, employees, customers, and company assets from theft or unauthorized activity.
  • Identify potential security concerns and take appropriate action in accordance with post orders.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and welcoming shopping environment.
  • Monitor customer activity while remaining attentive to suspicious behavior or policy violations.
  • Support store efforts to reduce theft, fraud, and inventory loss.
  • Observe and report incidents involving suspicious activity, property damage, or safety concerns.
  • Work cooperatively with store leadership and management regarding security-related matters.
  • Preserve accurate information regarding security events for follow-up when necessary.
  • Welcome customers and visitors with a courteous and professional demeanor.
  • Provide assistance or directions when appropriate while maintaining security awareness.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills during interactions with customers, employees, vendors, and management.
  • Maintain a calm and confident presence during routine operations and unexpected situations.
  • Complete daily activity reports and detailed incident documentation.
  • Record observations accurately and submit reports in accordance with company standards.
  • Communicate operational updates and security concerns promptly to supervisors and store management.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client operations, investigations, and security procedures.
