Requirements

  • Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a government transportation headquarters location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials as required, maintain awareness of visitor and contractor activity, and report irregularities according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate personnel and public emergency services when needed.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports, maintain required activity logs, and communicate security-related observations, incidents, and hazards to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
