About The Position

Saint Joseph's Medical Center is seeking per diem Armed Security Officers. The role involves protecting patients, visitors, and employees across the hospital campus. Responsibilities include responding to emergency situations, alarms, and other safety incidents, utilizing verbal de-escalation skills to resolve incidents, assisting with visitor management, and performing escorts when needed. Officers will conduct patrols on foot and/or by vehicle throughout hospital grounds, write accurate and detailed incident reports, and liaise with local law enforcement agencies when necessary. This is a uniformed position requiring the ability to stand for extended periods and may involve exposure to or handling of sensitive and confidential information.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Valid Full Carry Permit
• NYS Armed Guard License
• Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, or local licensing and permit requirements for armed security employment and specific weapons qualifications

Nice To Haves

• Active or former law enforcement experience preferred.
