Vaxcom Services LLC (a Parsons company) is looking for several talented armed security officers to join our team! In this role you will get to provide armed protection to a U.S. Government leased facility in the District of Columbia. Please note: these positions require that applicants/hires already possess the armed security officer certification and medical clearance issued by the District of Columbia to work/operate in the city.

Requirements

Prior experience in law enforcement, U.S. Military experience, or at least 1 year of professional security experience.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Strong observational and situational awareness skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact professionally, effectively, and successfully with individuals at all levels of an organization, building strong working relationships, and communicating with confidence and respect.
Familiarity with basic security protocols and emergency procedures.
Requires standing and walking facility patrols to include climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain for extended periods during a 12-hour shift.
Candidates must be able to remain alert, perform routine patrols, and respond to incidents as needed throughout the 12-hour shift to fulfill operational needs.
Eligibility to maintain all District of Columbia armed security officer certifications, including annual qualifications for handgun and patrol rifle (as required); and related medical clearance/certification (as required).
Ability to work a day or night shift (12 hours each) using a "Panama" schedule also referred to as a "2-2-3" schedule.
Must possess an active, current SECRET security clearance at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

CPR, First Aid, AED, or other emergency response certifications.
Experience working in high-risk or sensitive environments which include classified information.
Highly desired for extensive security weapons experience (i.e. Glock handgun, AR-15 or M-4 patrol rifle, and shotgun).
Knowledge of security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control, alarm systems).
Report writing and incident documentation skills.
Ability to de-escalate conflicts and handle difficult situations professionally.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Experience working with US government employees and their contractors.

Responsibilities

Controlling access to facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring all personnel entering the facility have the proper identification.
Responding to situations at the facility using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established Use of Force Policy.
Responding to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents that may occur during day or night.
Observing and report incidents or suspicious activity.
Maintaining proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon systems.
Attending and successfully completing any required In-Service Training annually.
Demonstrating flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Other ad hoc duties as assigned for this location/facility.
