As an Armed Security Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all persons at a government location by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities appropriate for an armed post.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related concerns and notifying appropriate personnel and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential policy violations.
  • Monitor entry and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or authorizations, and help to deter unauthorized access while maintaining professional interactions with staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Support site operations by preparing clear reports, communicating observations to supervisors, and following post orders related to government property, personnel, and security-related procedures.
