About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an Armed Security Officer to help protect City Hall facilities, personnel, property, and information. The role provides a visible deterrent to crime and violations of client rules and requires detecting and reporting suspicious, unsafe, or criminal activity that could threaten the site or the people there. The position pays $17.80 per hour.

Requirements

• At least three years of security experience; prior law enforcement, corrections, or military experience also qualifies.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Minimum of three years of law enforcement, military, or private armed security experience.
• At least 21 years of age, or older if required by the state.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear, concise incident or situation reports.
• Ability to complete all range qualifications and functions.
• Professionalism, situational awareness, and commitment to public safety.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality security services to safeguard personnel, property, and information.
• Conduct foot, bicycle, or vehicle patrols within and around the facility to protect people, assets, and sensitive or classified information.
• Preserve order and enforce rules, regulations, and directives.
• Maintain proficiency in assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons.
• Greet guests and employees and assist where appropriate.
• Escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, and secure classified information.
• Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders.
• Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances through written and verbal communication.
• Interact with the client and other security personnel regarding execution of orders when appropriate.
• Respond to and assess security or emergency alarms.
• Act as a first responder in emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
