Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test screening.
  • Retired in good standing from one of the following: Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), U.S. Park Police (USPP), U.S. Capitol Police (USCP), Montgomery Counts (PD), Prince George County (PD)
  • Current District of Columbia Special Police Officer (SPO) license
  • Current authorization/qualification to work armed in the District of Columbia
  • Prior law-enforcement or professional security experience
  • Active Shooter/Active Threat training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent situational awareness and observational skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during high-stress situations
  • Physically fit and capable of performing the essential duties of the position
  • Ability to pass all required company and client screening requirements
  • A current D.C. Special Police Officer (SPO) license is mandatory.
  • Candidates must maintain all required D.C. licensing, firearms qualifications, training, and certifications necessary to legally perform armed security duties in the District.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior security presence for the assigned national media facility.
  • Supervise and provide direction to security personnel assigned to the location.
  • Maintain a highly visible, professional security presence.
  • Monitor access control, visitor screening, employee entrances, and restricted areas.
  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, disturbances, and threats.
  • Coordinate response to active-threat/active-shooter incidents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain close communication with client management and PGS USA leadership.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate incident reports, daily activity reports, and other required documentation.
  • Conduct security inspections and identify vulnerabilities or potential security concerns.
  • Ensure security personnel comply with post orders, policies, procedures, and client requirements.
  • Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and security exercises.
  • Coordinate with MPD and other emergency responders when necessary.
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding the appropriate use of force and escalation of incidents.
  • Protect employees, visitors, guests, executives, and client property.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client operations, personnel, security procedures, and sensitive information.
