About The Position

Securitas plays an essential role for our clients and in society. The Armed Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently our Armed Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers and serve as a physical deterrent. Requirements

21 years of age or older.
High School Diploma, GED, OR ability to complete the GED program within 6 months.
Standard computer / technology skills needed - The ability to utilize a tablet, computer, or smartphone.
Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a calm and professional manner.
Must have great attention to detail and have the ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift.
Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
3 to 5 years of Armed experience.
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Security Officers.
Must pass pre-hire testing assignment and shooting qualification.
Must have a reliable personal vehicle.
Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
Must be able to provide the office with a reliable phone number where the officer can be reached at all times (i.e. cellular).
Must be reliable, accountable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
Must have a strong grasp of appropriate and professional verbal/written communication.

Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
Additional physical requirements may include frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned site on foot or in a vehicle; check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances, and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
Work directly with law enforcement, government staffing, and the community.
Write detailed incident reports on unauthorized entries, suspicious activity, emergency situations, and any other observed issues.
Security screen all persons coming through the public entrance to ensure prohibited items are not entering facilities.
Monitor surveillance cameras.
Conduct patrols throughout shift.
Conduct access control duties.
