About The Position

Allied Universal is currently hiring a Full Time Armed Security Officer for a State Site in Lowell, MA. This role involves serving and safeguarding clients in government industries. The officer will conduct armed patrols, monitor assigned areas, and remain visible to deter security incidents. The position requires professionalism, strong communication, and exceptional customer service, supporting daily operations within a meaningful public-facing environment.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, public officials, and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
  • Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and/or vehicle activity to help support authorized access, report unusual activity, and follow post orders related to government operations and public-facing locations.
  • Prepare written reports on incidents, patrol activities, and/or security-related concerns, and assist with traffic or pedestrian direction during emergencies, special activities, and other operational needs.
