Requirements

Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A valid firearms permit is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Baton certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations that may require an armed presence in accordance with site guidelines.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, public areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and help to verify that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas, following post orders and applicable procedures.
Prepare clear, timely reports of incidents, observations, and/or security-related concerns, and communicate with supervisors and public agencies as needed.
