Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations that may require an armed presence in accordance with site guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, public areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and help to verify that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas, following post orders and applicable procedures.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports of incidents, observations, and/or security-related concerns, and communicate with supervisors and public agencies as needed.
