As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to incidents and requests for assistance. You will provide exceptional customer service and communication while upholding Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED, as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, critical situations, and requests for assistance in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals entering restricted areas in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for patrols, incidents, unusual activity, and other security-related observations.
