Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree, is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, including while assigned to an armed patrol post.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access when required, and document security-related observations, incidents, and/or shift activities according to site procedures.
  • Support property operations by communicating with onsite contacts, reporting maintenance or life emergency concerns, and following post orders for after-hours coverage and/or incident escalation.
