As an Armed Front Desk Security Professional at a dynamic educational location, you will serve as a welcoming, highly visible presence, assisting students, staff, and visitors while monitoring access and responding to security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have 1+ years of law enforcement experience OR 2+ years of security supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years of security experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a university front desk.
  • Monitor access to the location, verify identification and/or visitor authorization as required, and maintain accurate visitor and access records.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
  • Answer incoming calls, provide directions and general location information, and communicate concerns to appropriate campus contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Maintain a professional front-desk presence, observe and report unusual activity or conditions, and help to deter unauthorized access.
