As an Armed Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Requirements

  • Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Hold a Texas Level III Armed Certification.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Handcuffing Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, access control procedures, and directions throughout the healthcare location.
  • Maintain required reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
