Requirements

  • Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Possess 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Possess 1 or more years of law enforcement experience, 2 or more years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and other stakeholders by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government-affiliated educational location.
  • Maintain an armed post in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, training, and Allied Universal policies; report observations and incidents through established channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with school leadership and public emergency responders as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, entrances, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorized entry when required, document visitors and incidents, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and designated site personnel.
