As an armed officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a professional presence through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Have 6 months or more of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or public sector personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, movement, and restricted areas, verifying access permissions and reporting violations of rules, policies, and/or post orders.
  • Support emergency and incident response by following post instructions, maintaining situational awareness, and coordinating with law enforcement and/or facility personnel when appropriate.
