This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government veterans services location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry, and maintain awareness of visitor, employee, and contractor activity in accordance with site requirements.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, patrol activities, and security-related concerns using required reporting procedures.
