Armed Full Time School Security Officer
About The Position
KRE Security, LLC is seeking reliable, consistent, and high-caliber Armed School Security Officers for a school district in Duncannon, PA. This position provides coverage across three separate school buildings and offers a stable weekday schedule, long-term placement, and year-round earning opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced armed security professionals, veterans, retired law enforcement, or individuals seeking a professional school security environment with steady hours and no overnight shifts. Position Details Starting pay: $23.00 per hour Monday–Friday schedule 8.5-hour daylight shifts No overnight shifts Position starts in September Coverage across three school buildings Overtime opportunities available for sports, extracurricular activities, and school events Full-time school-year placement with additional summer and per diem opportunities available when school is out
Requirements
- Act 235 Certification preferred or ability to obtain
- Prior military, law enforcement, corrections, or armed security experience preferred
- Veterans and prior law enforcement strongly encouraged to apply
- Clean criminal background and ability to pass required screenings
- Show up consistently and take pride in their work
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors
- Can work independently and make sound decisions
- Understand the importance of protecting schools and communities
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure school environment
- Conduct patrols of school property and grounds
- Respond to emergencies and security incidents
- Monitor entrances, visitors, and access control
- Build positive working relationships with school staff and administration
- Complete reports and required documentation professionally
- Coordinate with school officials and emergency responders when necessary
