About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced, decisive, and professional Armed Residential Security Shift Lead to manage and guide our elite Residential Security Team (RST). This is a critical leadership role embedded at a private, high-net-worth residence. The Shift Lead serves as the primary on-site authority during their designated shift, bridging the gap between field agents, the client's executive protection (EP) team, and corporate security management. This position requires an exceptional balance of tactical proficiency, emotional intelligence, and administrative capability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential security, executive protection, or military/law enforcement leadership. You must be capable of directing personnel, managing complex daily operations, and making real-time operational decisions that ensure the safety, privacy, and seamless daily life of the principal and their family.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in residential security, executive protection, law enforcement, or military service.
At least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
Proven track record of managing small tactical or security teams.
Experience developing operational schedules and conducting performance evaluations.
Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Valid U.S. Passport.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to navigate fast-paced environments, adapt to shifting priorities, and maintain a calm, authoritative presence under pressure.
Physical readiness: capable of conducting extensive foot patrols, standing for long periods, and physically assisting the client during an emergency evacuation.
Availability to work a demanding schedule, including 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays, on a rotational schedule.
Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation (criminal history, civil records, employment verification, MVR).
Successful completion of a pre-employment physical readiness test and drug screening.
Active, valid BSIS Security Guard Card.
Active, valid BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit.
Active, valid California-issued Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) Permit.

Nice To Haves

Advanced training in executive protection (e.g., ESI, EPI).
Advanced training in tactical driving (EVOC, SDC).
Prior experience operating within a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).
Experience managing advanced residential security technologies and access control platforms.
Advanced medical certifications (EMT, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), First Responder).
Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
Former military personnel with combat leadership experience (NCOs).
Law enforcement professionals with special operations/SWAT backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day security posture and operational readiness of the residential security team during their shift.
Actively manage, coach, and mentor RST agents, ensuring adherence to SOPs, Post Orders, and client-specific protocols.
Oversee access control, perimeter monitoring, and the functionality of residential security technologies (CCTV, intrusion detection, panic alarms).
Maintain and audit all security logs, equipment inventories, and shift handover reports.
Serve as the Incident Commander during security anomalies, medical emergencies, or intrusions, directing team response and coordinating with emergency services.
Act as the primary liaison between the security detail and household staff, ensuring smooth integration of security operations with daily routines.
Brief the client's core EP team on incidents, suspicious activities, and vulnerability assessments.
Proactively identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Maintain strict discretion and handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
