About The Position

We are looking for 1 armed guard to work in and around Columbus at various federal locations/sites/buildings. Work schedule is Monday-Friday with random weekends, nights, and holidays as required. All armed security officers provide services at designated federal buildings/installations. FPS Protective Security Officers (PSOs) are primarily responsible to perform security and monitoring work such as securing federal buildings and property, protecting personnel, equipment and material, and controlling access to work locations by employees and visitors. The PSO will respond to emergencies, conduct inspections and perimeter checks, and access control.

Requirements

Valid OPOTA Certification (Ohio Armed Security License issued by the State of Ohio)
Clean background check (no felonies or domestic violence/assault charges)
U.S. Citizen / hold a social security card
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Minimum of 21 years of age
Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English
Pass a Medical Evaluation (to be paid for by the company)
Pass a Drug Screen (to be paid for by the company)
Valid Driver’s License
CPR/First Aid/AED (training provided by the company)
Attend 1 week of classroom training and 1 week of range training, followed by 2 days of x-ray/screening training
