About The Position

The Field Supervisor for Walden Security manages, supervises, and coordinates the activities, at the field level, of all assigned Security Officers and executes all tasks related to maintaining prescribed standards in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures. This role provides the first line of supervision during hours when an Operations Staff member is not on duty. The supervisor works as an armed, uniformed officer and is able to legally carry a firearm in applicable states and/or locations. They possess a working knowledge of Specific and General Post instructions, as well as practical knowledge of additional and emergency post instructions. The supervisor patrols assigned posts and accounts using a company-provided vehicle, has the authority to make decisions in compliance with Walden policies, and can relieve any security officer in violation of Walden rules. They provide shift supervision, conduct inspections, and assist in on-the-job training for new officers. Additionally, they respond to alarms and urgent client needs, report significant issues to management, and fill open posts or work shifts if necessary. Responsibilities include examining premises for security and warning or expelling individuals engaging in suspicious activities, as well as registering at watch stations to record inspection times.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 25 years of age
  • Ability to pass drug test, motor vehicle record and criminal background check
  • AT LEAST 3 years security experience
  • Security Supervisor experience

Responsibilities

  • Manages, supervises, and coordinates the activities of assigned Security Officers at the field level.
  • Executes tasks to maintain prescribed standards in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provides first-line supervision when Operations Staff is not on duty.
  • Works as an armed, uniformed officer, legally carrying a firearm where applicable.
  • Maintains working knowledge of Specific and General Post instructions and emergency post instructions.
  • Patrols assigned posts and accounts using a company-provided vehicle.
  • Makes decisions in compliance with Walden policies.
  • Has the authority to relieve security officers in violation of Walden rules.
  • Provides shift supervision of all posts and security officers, including Roving patrols.
  • Conducts random visits to posts/accounts and performs inspections of security officers.
  • Conducts inspections of posts and Security Officers for proper compliance with Post Orders and Walden procedures.
  • Assists in conducting on-the-job training for newly assigned security officers.
  • Responds to building/facility and bank alarms upon request.
  • Responds to ATM alarms as required.
  • Responds to urgent client needs/requests for services or changes to services.
  • Informs the Field Manager or Operations Manager of matters/issues that cannot wait until the next workday.
  • Records daily events on the Daily Inspection Report (DIR).
  • Fills any post that becomes open during their shift with an off-duty security officer.
  • Works the shift of any posts that cannot be filled until a qualified security officer can be scheduled.
  • Examines doors, windows, and gates of assigned posts to determine that they are secure.
  • Warns violators of rule infractions and expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Registers at watch stations to record time of inspection trips and contracted random inspections.
