About The Position

Coastal Security Services, Inc. (CSSI) is hiring a full-time Armed Campus Security Officer to provide security at K-12 school campuses in the Beaufort County, SC area. The role involves maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position requires a professional, alert, and composed individual who understands the unique responsibilities of protecting a school environment. The schedule follows the school calendar with a consistent Monday-through-Friday schedule during school hours, with summers, school holidays, and breaks following the district schedule.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must possess or be able to obtain a SC SLED Armed Security Officer Registration
• Clean criminal background — must pass SLED background check and additional school district screening
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
• Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Beaufort County, SC area
• Availability to work Monday through Friday during school hours
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional demeanor and composure under pressure
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform foot patrols
• High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

• Prior law enforcement, military, or armed security experience
• School or campus security experience
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
• Crisis intervention or de-escalation training
• Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV, and incident reporting

Responsibilities

• Provide armed security coverage at assigned K-12 campus(es)
• Monitor access points and control entry to school buildings and grounds
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeters
• Coordinate with school administration, faculty, and local law enforcement
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems as applicable
• Assist with emergency drills and safety protocols
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation
• Serve as a visible deterrent and professional security presence

• Overtime is paid at 1.5x for all hours over 40 in a work week.
