About The Position

Penn State’s Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) program is seeking an enterprising graduate student for an ARL Part-Time Grad position in the Fluid Dynamics and Acoustics Office. The student will conduct research to enhance their readiness for successful and impactful careers in national security. ARL’s purpose is to conduct research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intelligence Community (IC).

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen to apply.
  • Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
  • All positions at ARL require candidates to possess the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering testing, data analysis, and data visualization
  • Perform hands-on work in a laboratory environment
  • Use multiple computing languages, analysis tools, simulations, and measurement systems
