About The Position

The Area Technology Engineer will be responsible for coordinating new program launches, managing projects from design to launch, and improving/supporting operations. This role involves developing and troubleshooting manufacturing processes, providing support to operators and technicians, and leading initiatives with other departments. The engineer will also be responsible for creating and maintaining process documentation, applying geometric dimensions and tolerances, and evaluating/improving manufacturing methods.

Requirements

  • Proficient in CNC machine operation, setup and programming.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM including GD&T.
  • Experience in manufacturing tooling design.
  • Knowledge of lean concepts.
  • Experience in grinding, balancing and drilling operations.
  • Knowledge of automation, logic, mechanical design, and implementation.
  • Ability to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, material and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, manufacturing methods and quality control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate New Program Launches from design to launch.
  • Manage activities including design, line layouts, capital procurement, equipment programming, setup, and training.
  • Interact with customers and suppliers.
  • Establish appropriate inventory levels for cutting tools and perishable work holding.
  • Develop and troubleshoot manufacturing processes to meet or exceed established metrics (TRS, Scrap, Process Capability, Tool CPP, etc.).
  • Provide support to operators/technicians to identify root cause and corrective actions for process, system, or equipment issues.
  • Coordinate and lead initiatives with other departments.
  • Create and maintain process documentation (tooling & operator instructions).
  • Apply geometric dimensions and tolerances to product documentation and designed components.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
