The Area Superintendent will work with the Columbia project team to identify and fulfill the client’s Conditions of Satisfaction. This role involves communicating these conditions and engaging trade partners in fulfilling them. The Area Superintendent will collaborate with the Sector Leader, Project Executive, and Field staff to identify project challenges and facilitate collaborative problem-solving within a larger project environment. This includes coordinating specific work within the overall project, aligning sub-projects with the master schedule, resource coordination, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. A key aspect of this role is developing and maintaining open and honest communication with the project team, participating in various meetings (internal team, project, subcontractor, coordination, safety, and goals meetings), and assisting the project manager with subcontractor buyout and procurement. The Area Superintendent is responsible for ensuring compliance with Columbia’s safety program, OSHA regulations, and other applicable standards, addressing and mitigating job site hazards, holding regular safety meetings and toolbox talks, conducting site safety orientations, and investigating incidents. They will also support the development of a project-specific control program, conduct pre-task meetings with subcontractors, establish workflow and quality standards, and provide feedback for training programs. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with trade partners on workflow schedules, identifying and eliminating constraints, and developing and communicating 2-3 week lookahead schedules.
