About The Position

The Kilby CCGT project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year. We are seeking an experienced candidate to be the Area Superintendent (Underground & Balance of Plant) on the upcoming Kilby project in Pecos, TX. You will mobilize directly to the field on a long-term (camp) assignment in Pecos, Texas. This position is contingent upon project award.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
  • Take actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction engineering practices related to all disciplines.
  • Strong background in underground commodities installation (HDPE, Carbon Steel, Duct bank, ect..)
  • Reviews equipment rentals and coordinates shared use of the equipment between the trades and is responsible for the equipment budget.
  • Establishes the tool trailer list at the onset of the project.
  • Able to work extended work schedules as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Combined Cycle power projects would be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned.
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Coordinates established area operational plans.
  • Oversees tool and equipment usage on the site.
  • Manages the preparation of field material requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive.
  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Manages engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
  • Coordinates the Construction Completion Walkdowns and supervises the close out of all punch list items.
  • Maintains, promotes and cultivates a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.
  • Ensures competent and practical adherence to the Bechtel standards and lessons learned.
  • Administers the execution of work packages and equipment installation.
  • Identifies potential back charges and out-of-scope issues and reports to management. Supports commercial recovery process.
  • Ensures all quality expectations are being met by holding supervisors and craft accountable.
