About The Position

Drives semi-tractor and trailer to move stores material, merchandise, equipment and supplies from one location to another. Performs physical and record keeping duties related to this function.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience and training in loading and operating a semi-tractor and trailer
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License and Driver Qualification Certification prior to the end of trial period.
This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements under 49 CFR Part 40 and FMCSA regulations (Part 382).
Courteous driving habits and a safe driving record.
Interest in and aptitude for stores work.
Ability to work without close supervision.
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading, routing and unloading materials and supplies required in a utility operation.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

Drives semi-tractor and trailer for moving stores material, merchandise, equipment, and supplies from area stores to working stock locations as scheduled.
May be assigned to make hauls direct to projects, to other stores location or to make pick-ups or deliveries from suppliers or other utilities.
Receives and stocks materials; gathers material for issuing and transferring; loads and unloads trucks; and processes stores documents as required.
Arranges truck contents for safe and convenient transfer and unloading.
Assists with loading and unloading.
Operates material handling equipment in accordance with industry requirements.
Maintains documents relative to loading and delivery.
Responsible for complying with traffic laws, load and highway restrictions and applicable regulations, such as, those governing the hauling of hazardous materials.
Responsible for general care of truck, keeping fuel and service records and arranging for necessary repairs or maintenance.
Assists with Area Stores work as directed, when not driving truck.
Performs all work according to established company practices and procedures.
Performs other duties which are similar, related and incidental to this position.
