About The Position

This position is accountable for supervising and training his/her Account Managers in managing and establishing relationships with current and future retailers in assigned territory to ensure the successful sales and volume growth by increasing the availability and visibility of our brands through customer relations and service, quality control, proper merchandising and promotions. Accountable for developing outstanding internal and external customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Account Manager or Beverage Supervisor experience, REQUIRED
  • Ability to work with computer programs associated with the performance of the position.
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills; uses diplomacy and discretion.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization, to organize, prioritize, negotiate, manage, motive others and solve problems.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Highly professional, with ability to interface well with internal and external contacts.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal expertise.
  • Decision making, thoroughness and time management a must.
  • Knowledge of geographic areas; familiarity with assigned territory.
  • Possess a valid Texas drivers license and have an acceptable MVR.
  • Carry automobile insurance per company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and training Account Managers.
  • Managing and establishing relationships with current and future retailers.
  • Ensuring successful sales and volume growth by increasing brand availability and visibility.
  • Developing outstanding internal and external customer relationships.
  • Maintaining excellent rapport with the account base and chain account store managers, pricing clerks, back-door personnel, etc.
  • Making assigned accounts daily and/or weekly as directed by management.
  • Selling in new brands or packages as directed by brewery representative/upper management.
  • Ensuring proper product rotation and return of expired products.
  • Ensuring Account Managers have up-to-date information in Encompass/iPad and use it as a selling tool.
  • Ensuring a constant and adequate supply of paper and permanent POS for accounts.
  • Communicating with delivery and merchandising departments daily using Encompass.
  • Promoting additional sales through selling and building displays and placing POS.
  • Placing current POS with correct prices in accounts.
  • Managing account base allocation of POS for chain and independent accounts.
  • Assisting in pre-staging of current themed POS.
  • Verifying and identifying account’s special needs for thematic POS in advance.
  • Pre-booking, executing, and documenting where permanent POS is needed.
  • Informing Sales Manager of any competitive activity affecting the company.
  • Reporting price parity/discrepancies with competitive brands/packages to Sales Manager.
  • Tracking competitive price letters and discounts.
  • Ensuring pass-through pricing is reflected in retail for all promoted products.
  • Monitoring and reporting actual price off features with quantity discount buys.
  • Managing and selling window sets, window positions, and window signage.
  • Ensuring all chain accounts are scanned into the database for sales use, pre-staging box sets, and assisting with box resets.
  • Ensuring Account Managers place all pricing items allowed by retailers.
  • Monitoring Account Managers’ progress weekly on monthly incentives.
  • Turning in daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork on time.
  • Maintaining updated sales and distribution information by sales route for all brands and packages.
  • Weekly review of new package placements.
  • Executing retail surveys as requested.
  • Reporting to Sales Manager regarding account’s service level vs. needs.
  • Monitoring out-of-date products found on routes.
  • Monitoring product quotas and distribution goals for Account Managers.
  • Responsible for extra delivery as needed, filling in for absent Merchandisers.
  • Having a working knowledge of each sales route and handheld computer system to fill in for absent Account Managers.
  • Submitting and turning in a weekly work plan and a recap of accomplishments.
  • Setting sales goals and objectives for the sales staff.
  • Creating new forms and procedures as deemed necessary.
  • Coming up with new ways to better communicate with Sales, Drivers, and Merchandisers.
  • Training and developing all personnel.
  • Riding with each Account Manager per month to observe and improve performance.
  • Reporting manpower needs and requests to Sales Manager.
  • Coming up with new plans and ideas to make daily duties more efficient.
  • Working with retailers on ways to increase sales.
  • Meeting with store owner/manager/director on each visit.
  • Demonstrating a sincere interest in the business success of each account.
  • Having a positive attitude towards all fellow employees.
  • Ensuring self and employees abide by all company policies and procedures.
  • Conducting performance appraisals on all employees reporting to them.
  • Attending company meetings as requested.
  • Attending vendor meetings and traveling in the market with their representatives.
