About The Position

The Area Manager plans, leads, and oversees all aspects of operations activities in the designated area with an unwavering commitment to safety, ethics, quality, people leadership and customer care. This role collaborates with senior leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on area/division operations. The Area Manager implements and communicates the strategic direction of the organization within the designated area/division and drives exceptional safety performance through visible, transparent leadership on work sites. They collaborate with other areas/divisions and groups to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives, leading by example and always representing Apache favorably. Business is conducted in a professional and ethical manner at all times, upholding all company and customer policies, procedures, and guidelines, and holding others accountable for doing the same. This role identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and the use of resources and materials. They ensure that departmental decisions and project plans, such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, and facilities, are in line with the organization's business plan and vision. Communication and implementation of operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures are key to ensuring effective and consistent support and execution. The Area Manager reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for the designated area/division, and establishes and manages the area/division’s budget. Regular performance reports and metrics are presented to the senior leadership team. Maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and trends in operations management is crucial. Excellent people leadership is provided, including delivering constructive and timely feedback on performance, handling disciplinary issues in accordance with company policy, and supporting team member development for the betterment of the team member and Apache. The Area Manager represents Apache in industry-recognized organizations, conferences, and events as an active participant and/or in a leadership role. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction, Engineering, or another industry-related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience within the industrial construction/maintenance business.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Established industry network and regular participation/leadership in industry recognized organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and articulating complex strategies and plans to both senior management and peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and influence others positively.
  • Proven ability to drive strategic direction.
  • Executive presence, one who possesses the depth of experience to comfortably interact with senior leaders within the company while remaining accessible to everyone.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An enterprise-wide thinker, with a lens on how decisions made within one site or unit may affect others across the business.
  • Driven self-starter with a strong attention to detail and ability to operate autonomously.
