About The Position

This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring Health Centers consistently exceed service-level commitments—delivering high-quality, cost-effective care that improves outcomes for patients and clients alike. Operational Impact You own the performance of your assigned health centers, driving key performance indicators (KPIs) across patient experience, client satisfaction, and operational excellence. Leadership & Culture You build and lead strong, collaborative teams—fostering a positive, solutions-oriented environment while supporting growth and development across your region. Compliance & Quality You ensure all sites meet and exceed AAAHC standards while maintaining adherence to clinical, regulatory, and organizational best practices. We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Area Operations Director (AOD) to lead the performance of multiple Health Centers within a defined region. In this role, you will drive operational strategy, lead cross-functional collaboration, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care across your sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive management experience within the healthcare industry (onsite or primary care environment strongly preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven multi-site management experience
  • Demonstrable operations experience is required
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with solid business acumen, including budget and business plan development
  • Experience managing P&Ls up to $10M in revenues and overseeing multi-site health center operations (3–5 years preferred)
  • Strong negotiation skills in both internal and external interactions
  • Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and leadership skills
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, utilizing business management software
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, management, or a related field is preferred

  • Prior experience working as a Clinic Manager
  • Professional certifications (e.g., operations management, data analysis)
  • Experience with customer data applications or CRM platforms

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations across assigned health centers, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and high-quality service delivery
  • Partner with Area Medical Directors and Client Success leaders to drive performance, manage escalations, and optimize outcomes
  • Analyze performance data and proactively implement strategies to improve key business and clinical metrics
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, clinical, and organizational standards
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams, including direct oversight of Health Center staff and AAODs
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across your region
