As an Area Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment, including piping, steam, hydraulics, rigging, and various process machinery throughout the facility.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
15+ year industrial maintenance, mechanical apprenticeship, or military experience.
Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call.
Physically able to lift up to 55 lbs., climb, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
Required PPE includes Nomex®, steel-toe boots, hardhat, eyewear, face shield, hearing and arc protection, and respirators.
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and first break protocols.
Install, disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and blowers.
Align and maintain rotating equipment; inspect and replace parts like belts, chains, shafts, and valves.
Perform maintenance on piping systems and heavy equipment, including heat exchangers and columns.
Use precision tools to measure and align machinery, handle relief devices like rupture discs and vacuum breakers.
Utilize digital systems for documentation; must be SCBA fit tested and able to wear respiratory gear.
