About The Position

The Area Manager is responsible for leading sales, service, operations, and administration for a three-branch market covering Emrick Boulevard, Airport Road, and Tilghman Street. This role is grounded in the standard Branch Manager position while carrying an expanded Area Manager scope that includes coaching leaders across multiple locations, driving market growth, ensuring consistent execution of policies and procedures, strengthening community presence, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The position is intended to reflect progressive leadership across the branch management career path and serves as a developmental role toward regional leadership by building broader market oversight, talent development, operational discipline, and strategic execution capabilities. Works with business partners and regional leadership to expand relationships focusing on the financial needs of all areas of the community while promoting the PSBT brand. Mentors, develops, and coaches staff and emerging leaders to deliver PSBT mission and values, counsels customers by providing needs-based financial solutions, and oversees day-to-day branch operations, sales performance, compliance, and team effectiveness across all assigned offices.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor degree or equivalent generally required.
  • Demonstrated success in branch leadership with the ability to scale performance across multiple locations
  • Strong knowledge of retail and business banking products and services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop others, including developing branch staff and branch leaders for broader responsibility and future advancement.
  • Strong understanding of branch operations, administration, consumer and business financial products and services, consumer lending, and referral-based relationship development.
  • Ability to manage multiple branch priorities simultaneously, make sound decisions, solve complex problems and lead effectively through change.
  • Ability to coordinate staffing, service standards, operational execution and performance expectations across a multi-location branch market.
  • Strong business development, networking, and community engagement skills with the ability to grow market presence and referral opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in a related position normally required, with demonstrated success in branch leadership.
  • Experience managing larger teams, complex branch operations, multiple locations, or broader market responsibilities is strongly preferred.
  • This role should reflect leadership capability consistent with progression across the branch management levels and readiness for future advancement toward regional leadership.
  • NMLS registration or ability to obtain and maintain.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for Emrick Boulevard, Airport Road, and Tilghman Street, ensuring alignment of sales, service, operations, staffing and administration across the assigned branch market.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops Assistant Branch Managers, branch staff, and emerging leaders, strengthening the internal talent pipeline and supporting progression through the branch leadership levels.
  • Creates a high-performing culture rooted in One Bank/One Team/One Brand, with clear expectations, accountability, collaboration, and customer-focused execution across all locations.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of consumer deposit and loan products, business deposit products, cash management services, and referral channels, and ensures teams are prepared to identify and fulfill customer needs.
  • Drives sales performance through outbound calling, business development, community engagement, relationship expansion and coordinated growth strategies across the three locations.
  • Implements strategies to achieve goals developed for the offices and region as part of the Retail Banking Division’s annual operating and strategic plan.
  • Partners with internal business lines including Wealth Management, Cash Management, Merchant Processing, Mortgage and other bank partners to create strong referral networks and deliver complete financial solutions.
  • Represents the bank professionally in the community and actively builds local visibility, community partnerships and referral relationships that support market growth objectives.
  • Provides leadership oversight of branch operations, compliance, security, audit readiness, and procedural execution to ensure consistent standards and sound risk management across the market.
  • Coordinates staffing, scheduling, training, and branch coverage plans to maintain service continuity, operational effectiveness, and leadership presence across all assigned locations.
  • Serves as the primary leadership escalation point for complex matters within the assigned market. Resolves customer and staff issues with diplomacy and sound judgment, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Capable of assisting with operational duties, customer support and branch transactions as needed to maintain service levels and business continuity.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
