About The Position

This role is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. The Area Manager will monitor and manage the productivity of their area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. They will maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing procedures. Additionally, this role involves identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. The role emphasizes building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, creating a culture of belonging, and empowering associates. It also involves acting with integrity, upholding ethical standards, and contributing to Walmart's goal of becoming a regenerative company. The Area Manager will serve customers by delivering results, adapting to customer shopping behaviors, and applying EDLP and EDLC business models. They will make data-driven decisions, balance priorities, and consider all stakeholders. Finally, the role encourages continuous improvement, adoption of new technologies, and support through change.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals.
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures, monitoring associate compliance, and distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action or make recommendations.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.
