About The Position

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Area Manager to oversee our daily janitorial operations in the Bay City, MI area. As an Area Manager, you will serve as the operational backbone for our accounts in Bay City and the surrounding communities. You will be responsible for managing a team of commercial cleaners and support staff, ensuring that client facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. This role requires a proactive approach to team leadership, quality control, inventory management, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or management experience required, preferably in commercial cleaning, facilities management, hospitality, or retail operations.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).
  • Ability to work primarily evening hours, with flexibility to respond to operational needs or client requirements as they arise.
  • Ability to perform routine building walkthroughs, lift up to 35 lbs, and demonstrate proper cleaning equipment usage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and mentor cleaning associates and support technicians.
  • Build a cohesive, motivated team committed to high performance.
  • Conduct regular, detailed building walkthroughs and inspections to ensure all quality standards and contractual agreements are met or exceeded.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for account representatives in your territory.
  • Address client inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, manage shift coverage, monitor timecards, and control labor costs to meet operational budgets.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment across all assigned accounts, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Enforce company safety policies, proper chemical handling (OSHA/HAZCOM guidelines), and correct ergonomic cleaning techniques.
