About The Position

This role is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. The Area Manager will monitor and manage the productivity of their area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. They will maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing procedures. Additionally, this role involves identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. The role emphasizes building high-performing teams, fostering a culture of belonging, attracting and retaining talent, and acting with integrity and transparency. The Area Manager will also focus on serving customers by delivering results and adapting to customer shopping behaviors, and striving for excellence by displaying curiosity, encouraging continuous improvement, and supporting change.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and 1 year supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year Walmart Logistics Management experience OR 2 years Walmart Logistics experience OR 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures, monitoring associate compliance, and distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others to determine corrective action or make recommendations.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation.
