About The Position

The Area Manager, Locate will be responsible for performing various duties including oversight of workload distribution, customer relations, and interaction with corporate departments such as IT and purchasing, as well as homeowners and the general public. This role also involves overseeing disciplinary actions, inspecting vehicles and equipment, managing inventory ordering, mentoring supervisors for performance improvement, and assisting in damage resolution. The Area Manager will interpret reports like PDR and audits, assist in difficult locate jobs, maintain force to load requirements, and conduct performance reviews for staff.

Requirements

Must be at least eighteen years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas
Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free
Computer literate
Ability to locate
Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation
Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction
Excellent communication skills at all levels
Experienced in effective leadership in the locating industry
Excellent communications skills oral and written
Comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement required
Successfully complete company provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing
Must have above average computer skills
Three to five years experience

Responsibilities
