About The Position

The Area Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of multiple projects within an assigned area. This role involves formulating and implementing project goals, strategies, and SOPs, managing new business development, contract negotiations, and client retention. The Area Manager will also oversee the financial performance of projects, manage teams, ensure compliance with regulations, and lead safety efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in the operation of a water or wastewater treatment facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate water or wastewater certification based on facility managed.
  • Knowledge of water/wastewater facilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet.
  • Ability to interpret analytical results.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates and implements project goals, strategies, and SOPs.
  • Manages new business development activities and contract negotiations, as well as securing renewals and scope expansion.
  • Maintains contract compliance and account management.
  • Assists with the development of client retention plans.
  • Initiates new client contacts.
  • Reviews and monitors the financial performance of all projects in assigned area.
  • Tracks/reviews all purchasing.
  • Manages teams related to hiring, on-boarding, performance management, utilization, training, development, salary, promotions, transfers and terminations.
  • Coaches individual and team performance and improvement.
  • Ensures that all SOPs are followed, and DOT, OSHA and other requirements are met.
  • Conducts routine facility inspections.
  • Interacts with regulators as required.
  • Meets with client representatives and council to discuss facility operations, maintenance and capital projects as required.
  • Leads all Safety efforts, including training, documentation and compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
