This role is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. The Area Manager will monitor and manage the productivity of their area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. They will maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing supporting documentation. Additionally, they will identify and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns. This role involves supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching policies, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, and evaluation processes. The Area Manager is expected to foster a culture of belonging, attract and retain talent, empower and develop individuals, and act with integrity, ethics, and compliance, upholding Walmart values and contributing to the company's goal of becoming a regenerative company. They will also focus on serving customers by delivering results, adapting to customer shopping behaviors, and applying EDLP and EDLC business models. Decision-making should be data-driven, balancing short and long-term priorities while considering all stakeholders. Continuous improvement, adoption of new technologies, and support through change are also key aspects of this role.
