About The Position

This position implements the business plan for the area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals. The Area Manager monitors and manages the productivity of their area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. They maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing supporting documentation. This role also identifies and resolves associate, customer, and supplier concerns. The Area Manager supervises and develops associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. They are responsible for hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluating associates and leaders. The role emphasizes building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, creating a culture of belonging, and empowering associates to thrive. It also involves working collaboratively, communicating effectively to motivate and influence, attracting and retaining talent, and recognizing contributions. The Area Manager acts with integrity, upholding the highest standards of ethics and compliance, modeling Walmart values, and fostering a regenerative company culture. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and 1 year's supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year's Walmart Logistics Management experience OR 2 years' Walmart Logistics experience OR 2 years' supervisory experience.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals.
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures, monitoring associate compliance to policies and procedures, and distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others to determine corrective action or make recommendations.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.
