About The Position

The Area Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of heavy equipment across multiple locations. This role involves overseeing maintenance operations, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition to support the company's operational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and repair practices.
  • Proficient in maintenance management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure timely and efficient repairs and servicing of equipment.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
  • Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, cranes, and other machinery.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are documented accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to prioritize equipment repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for parts and services as needed.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the maintenance team.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and budget status.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement corrective actions based on data analysis and feedback.
