About The Position

The Area Leasing Consultant I is responsible for supporting specific sites within a limited geographic region. This role requires strong sales and leasing skills. The Area Leasing Consultant is responsible for all aspects of rental income, including showing and leasing apartments through effective selling and closing techniques. A successful Area Leasing Specialist I has a thorough knowledge of all the communities, competition and current market. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of sales experience in retail, hospitality, or multifamily housing.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); experience with property management software (Yardi and Funnel preferred).
  • Flexibility to work weekends— Many prospects tour communities on Saturdays, so availability is key.
  • A strong sales background— Experience in sales, leasing, retail, pharmaceutical, medical sales, hospitality, or real estate preferred.
  • A closer’s mindset— You know how to identify opportunities, overcome objections, and seal the deal.
  • Outstanding communication skills— You can engage, persuade, and build rapport with people from all backgrounds.
  • Goal-oriented drive— You thrive in a performance-based environment and are motivated by targets and incentives.
  • Tech-savviness— Familiarity with CRM systems, property management software, or digital marketing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert on our communities and the local area to engage prospects and deliver great tours.
  • Showcase model and vacant apartments, highlighting key features and benefits.
  • Implement follow-up and closing techniques to maximize lease conversions.
  • Plan resident events and ensure high resident satisfaction through responsive customer service.
  • Use creative outreach (calls, emails, corporate visits) to generate leads and drive occupancy.
  • Assist with promotional programs, online advertising, and social media outreach.
  • Master new sales strategies.
  • Work weekends to help prospective residents find their new home.
  • Stay organized and responsive to daily property needs.
